Meet Kristen Leary

Born and raised just outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, but possibly traveling somewhere around the world, I am a Nikon Z6ii photographer specializing in portraits and landscapes. Through my lens, I like to capture the reality of life in as much natural light as possible. I am not a photographer who will pose your portraits, but rather guide you so I can capture your genuine self. Photography to me is not a way to warp reality— it is to show reality.

My passion for photography started at a young age when cameras still used floppy disks for memory cards. I loved taking photos of anything and everything. It was on my 16th birthday that my parents bought me my first professional Nikon camera, and from there, I photographed all that I could. I started sharing my art with people from all over the world on Flickr and learned so much from the feedback and love I received in that community. Sharing my photos with others continues to bring me joy, and I hope to share that with you if we work together.

I continued photography as a hobby throughout college, my time living abroad in Spain as “Leary the guiri”, and into my working adult life. While photography has never been my main career, I have always found ways to incorporate it into what I do. I have experience photographing weddings in several different countries, school portraits, newborns, events, engagements, graduations, and more. I am absolutely a great fit for you if you are planning a destination wedding - I offer discounts for those!
